Safe + Clean Seal

Continued Focus on Safe + Clean Pledge

Positive news about visitation and hotel occupancy is now countered with growing concerns among travelers about the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19. This is the time to remind customers that you will uphold safety protocols. For the more than 1,000 partners that have taken the Visit Lauderdale Safe + Clean Pledge, thank you!

Partners who have not previously taken the pledge are encouraged to sign up. It’s free and easy! We’ll send you a poster to display at your businesses and continue to promote the Safe & Clean campaign on the Visit Lauderdale website and our social media channels.

Liz Kara introduced clients to Greater Fort Lauderdale in June. This was our first Destination Preview since the start of the Covid Pandemic. It was a small group, but they were thrilled to tour eight hotel properties, enjoyed a golf cart tour of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, a sunset catamaran tour of the Intracoastal Waterway and an Everglades airboat tour. Thank you to our many partners who made this introduction possible.

Heather Miller, Regional Sales Executive – Midwest, attended the HelmsBrisco annual business conference in June that brought together all their sourcing managers to connect with industry partners (hotels and destinations) to network and discuss business opportunities. There were more than 400 HB associates in-person, and they also had virtual participants for appointments. Heather hosted 22 one-on-one appointments and has already received four positive leads for the destination.

Agnes Zaranski, Sr. Regional Sales Executive, attended Northstar’s GTM 2021 Welcome Reception sponsored by Visit Lauderdale, along with her leisure team partner, Caitlan Etchevers. We had more than 200 travel agents attend this event to get to know our destination. With more than 800 total room nights, this program had an economic impact of more than $689,000. We are excited to continue to partner with Northstar and with our hotel partners at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. We are looking forward to welcoming back the group in 2022 at The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton.

PARTNER TO PARTNER OPPORTUNITY

Boutique Hotel Partners Sought for the Artcation Artist Residency During Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week 2022

Organizers of Fort Lauderdale Art & Design (FTLADW) Week are seeking boutique hotels to participate in Artcation. Launched during the 2021 event, Artcation pairs one artist per hotel for a complimentary eight-day/seven-night stay from January 22-30, 2022. During their stay, resident artists will document the daily creation of an art piece inspired by the hotel and its surroundings and promote on social media. The final pieces will be revealed during a socially distant reception taking place at each of the participating properties. Each host hotel will keep the finished artwork as part of the residency and will benefit from the weeklong social media promotion.

Three hotels participated last year – Desoto Oceanview Inn, Manhattan Tower and Cottages by the Ocean. Interest from artists is high so organizers hope to grow the number of hotels participating. Interested hotels can fill out the sponsorship form here. The submission deadline is October 29.
