Visit Lauderdale hosted the AVP Fort Lauderdale Open where hundreds of professional volleyball players competed on Fort Lauderdale beach.

UPCOMING TRAVEL:

Aug 8-10, Saskia Fisher and Dawson Pritchett will be attending Connect Marketplace in Detroit, MI.

GLOBAL TRADE DEVELOPMENT

Caitlan Etchevers was joined by reps from Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport at Dania Pointe, Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street, and the Roadway Inn, on her Carolinas Sales Mission. The group visited Charleston, Charlotte, and Raleigh with ASTA & PTANA. In three days, the group hosted four events, including trainings to educate travel advisors on everything Visit Lauderdale.

Caitlan attended Global Travel Marketplace for an elite 3-day appointment-only event with a Pre & Post FAM included. This is the 10th year GTM has partnered with Visit Lauderdale for this conference, where they invite the most influential travel advisors and global travel advisors for face-to-face meetings and boardrooms at the Diplomat Beach Resort. To start and end GTM, Caitlan and Ava also hosted travel agents specially chosen to participate in a FAM. The agents went on an adventure that took them all throughout Greater Fort Lauderdale, visiting Sawgrass Recreation Park, the Wyndham Deerfield Beach, Hollywood Hot Glass, AC Fort Lauderdale Beach and many more sites!

Ava took some advisors from GTM experienced GFL from the intracoastal to the Everglades.  Thanks to Water Taxi and Sawgrass Recreation Center for hosting our guests.

Paul Mason hosted a webinar for Ocean Holidays, where he educated travel advisors on what makes Visit Lauderdale a unique destination and how we welcome Everyone Under the Sun. Ocean Holidays is one of the largest growing travel groups in the UK, offering a diverse range of vacations for families, couples, and large groups. Ocean Holidays has three unique travel brands, one of them including the largest direct-to-consumer Florida specialist in Europe: Ocean Florida.

Hablo, the global travel network, featured Visit Lauderdale on their landing page along with a newsletter promoting the destination. To further educate travel advisors throughout the UK and globally, Hablo posted a daily quiz takeover to further promote Visit Lauderdale.

Ava Rivera welcomed the new training class for Cruise One Dream Vacations and attended a trade show for their regional training. CruisePlanners Star University also had a new training class with over 80 agents in attendance. The increase of travel agents in Cruise One Dream Vacations and Cruise Planners is a great indicator that we’ll have more Lauderdale Loyalist graduates!

Cruise One Dream Vacations continued their training classes with a mini trade show and FAM to the Everglades and Flamingo Gardens. This month’s class got close and personal with baby gator encounters and saw the “Free Our Seas” art exhibit that shows how much our everyday lives impact the ocean.

Lieb Management, our German marketing firm, has continued to promote Visit Lauderdale through an individual press trip for the newspaper Maerkiche Allgemeine/Maerkischer Markt and numerous press releases. Some of the press releases include:

  • Visit Florida - Experience Florida's art scene firsthand
  • Global Marine Conservation programs (Moonlight Discovery Sea Turtle Walks was featured)
  • Alligator watching after dark and Water Taxi tours in the Venice of America – the Top 5 experiences in Greater Fort Lauderdale
